Management of Social Media Accounts

from all of you is the advice my last blog post, and began to create their own interactive talent communities through social media, these applications / management features make it a little easier:

TweetDeck - Great for managing multiple Twitter accounts, taking an active search trends, industry hash marks, the source of keywords, etc. Free -. He had

Facebook / Linkedin - at first I was bothered by the fact that I could not find any IPAD specific applications for this, but when I shot him simply by logging in through Safari, it was I was pleasantly surprised. It does not really need much more than the experience at all. Later that afternoon I went to the hiring manager and literally handed him a couple of candidate profiles by using LinkedIn Recruiter.

general business applications

Quickoffice Mobile Suite - On the limitations of some of the main Apple Business Suite applications (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), it is a far superior solution in my opinion. You can open and save files in different formats (including saving files in Excel format - as opposed to numbers), and connect directly to your online storage account, including: release, Google Docs, Mobile Me, and others. A lot of functionality in the applications themselves, I could not ask for anything more really. At $ 16.99, I feel it was worth the money if you plan on using a tool like this.

Reading Materials / Resources

There are a lot of digital eBook readers and booksellers across the iPad: iBooks, Google Book Search, and light, to name a few. You can definitely build a library of HR which can be accessed at any time and from almost anywhere.

resources

Without going into too much detail, there is a plethora of free reference applications are available on most any subject. I personally take at least three different law dictionaries / instructions for quick reference, if the term comes to May not be familiar with (of course no substitute for actual legal advice ).

Digital print

In addition to books, magazines, digital seems to be immensely popular on the iPad. They are also available for many subjects, including HR. You can find applications with digital copies for HR magazine, including:

HR Magazine

HR Magazine

...

People Management

A big perk is that does not necessarily have to be a paid subscriber to see some of "the past or even current issues.

HR-specific applications

Yes, I was able to find a few, unfortunately, nothing groundbreaking feel great compared to the rest of the functionality of the IPAD, but they are worth mentioning all the same.

Employee Monitoring - Offer free and premium versions. This app allows you to keep track of any incidents involving a specific employee behaviors, and accounting for what the employer response was. The premium version has a few additional sorting options, many employees may be stored in its database, and can export data in CSV format. Another similar to the paid app is Direct Report: Employee Feedback Tracker .

My MBA: Human resources HR at your fingertips, Dictionary of Human Resources Management Terms human Resources Terminology - these are all paid applications, but it seems that the basic primers / glossary for a variety of fundamental human pitanja.Najobuhvatniji of these funds seems to be my MBA , which costs $ 12.99.

TWGlobal50 - This is probably one of the best HR-specific applications available. Towers Watson offers a free app with interactive map of the human capital data for 57 countries. Some of the information includes: budget pay increases for 2011, the levels of employee engagement, talent mobility and charges

.

SHRM 2011 - If you attend the annual SHRM conference in Las Vegas in June, this free app is a must have. This is a detailed breakdown of each session, the speakers, to enable you to plot your own agenda in the app based on the sessions you wish to participate, as well as providing information about the vendors in attendance and where they are.

Access to Web Based Services

In addition to all these great tools, you can still access your organization's web-based HR services using Safari. I was able to work in our ATS (Tale employment) just fine, and with full functionality, access to our self-service HR portal Paychex, as well as access to pay back-end process of a potential, if necessary. In this case, should I download a free Citrix App Receiver, and then I was able to access that part of the Paychex just fine.

If you consider yourself a "G-recruiter," you can see your iGoogle page without any difficulty. Google is a disclaimer at the top of the page stating that some functionality may not be available in tablets, but I personally do not run into anything yet.

Note Taking / digital format Completion

I saved the most exciting app for last. When I ordered the IPAD, one of my goals was to be able to eliminate the need for my work, legal pad, and do what they can go as far as possible the paper. For $ 4.99, Note taker HD can make that happen.

While about 99% of people are OK with using the finger as the main way to navigate and interact in IOS applications, I decided to get the stylus. After a good amount of research, I went to BoxWave for $ 15. It is slightly smaller than a normal pen, light but not fragile, and has a soft rubber tip -. So that will not scratch your screen

After you launch the application, you create a blank page and notes in PDF. If you create a blank page, you will see a normal lined notebook page on which you can write with a stylus. You actually have the option in the settings to select different types of lines. To maximize the amount of space to write, you can use the handy zoom window. It takes a little time to get used to, but it is definitely a prize. Regarding the accuracy of writing with a stylus, outstanding. It is 99% dead, as if I was writing on paper with a pencil. Very little delay in seeing the text, if any, when writing. I brought my iPad in for several meetings this past week to test this feature on the ground - no objection. When you are done taking notes, go ahead and save the file as a PDF, and e-mail for yourself or for another destination. I for one can e-mail to my Evernote account, and my desktop -. Transfer wherever it needs to go

to indicate the PDF option, basically importing PDF files / forms, and write over them. For example, you have a job application to all candidates to complete. How would your company is progressive it seems that if you gave them pills, and asked them to fill it out digitally? There are many potential benefits from this feature. Save marked PDF is the same as above, exports to PDF format and e-mail to their destination of choice.

Final thoughts

Needless to say, I really enjoyed working with my iPad in the past week, and I'm still finding new features and applications to enhance the experience. Although this is not a "must have" item, it is certainly a useful one. I am anxious to see how this new advent of tablet computing begins to integrate into everyday work life on a larger scale.
