Cellular and PCS (Personal Communications Service) base stations in the United States are required to obey the limits of exposure advised by experts and advocates belonging to the state agency responsible for H & S. The measurements were near the station and the computer network base cells mounted on towers have confirmed that ground-level exposures are often thousands of times less than the exposure limits adopted by the FCC (Federal Reserve Communications Commission ).
In reality, it will be exposed to levels at or near the FCC limits for cellular frequencies of the individual or the computer would basically have to stay in the main broadcast radio signal (at the height of the antenna) and within a few meters from the antenna. This is, of course, terribly unlikely to happen. When the cellular antenna and a computer mounted on rooftops, RF levels on that roof or on others nearby will probably be higher than those encountered in the field.
However, exposure levels approaching or surpassing the safety of the guiding principles to meet just awful close to or right in front of the antenna. In addition, for sector-type antennas, typically used for such rooftop base stations, RF levels to the side and back, and antennas are insignificant. Does mobile Towers cause other health problems?
Although elevated levels of radio frequency waves can cause heating of tissues, cell phone towers do not yield exposure at levels sufficient to cause this effect. There is no systematic evidence in the printed reports that cell phone towers cause other health problems.
What do I do if I had an exposure to mobile telephony Towers? As noted above, the cell phone towers pose little risk under the standard conditions.
There is no test to determine whether you have been exposed to RF radiation from mobile phone towers.
However, if there is a cell phone tower placed near your home or office, you can ask the Presidency of the agency or private company to determine the field strength of radio frequencies in the vicinity of the tower to make sure that it is in the acceptable range. Bottom Line. Mobile phone towers, like cellular phones themselves, are a relatively new technology, and we still do not have much information on health effects. In particular, it is not enough time has elapsed to allow epidemiologic studies. There are some unproven reason why cell phone towers would not predict the risk for cancer spread, and RF tests on animals have not been advised of the possibility of cancer. Folk who are concerned may require measurements of RF near cellular phone towers to be sure exposures do not exceed the limits advocated.
